The Blazer...

So, I have a few blazers in my closet which don't receive much attention.  On many occassions, I have found myself telling women to layer with a blazer...It's an easy solution for someone who is looking to hide their arms or wants more of a finished look. I decided to take my own advice, and I attempted an outfit around the blazer.

After trial and error, I've found that a shorter blazer works better for me. I'm pretty short, so the longer blazers don't seem to do much for my body. Since the blazer has a bit of detail in front, I paired it with a simple white tank, fitted black skinnys, and some booties. I think it was a blazer success :)

La Mer Watches Have Arrived...

I'm obsessed! I love these watches. You can go simple with a plain band or get a little crazy with a patent leather band and chain detail.

I'm wearing mine with a Jessica Elliot double ring in silver/crystal. Maybe a little much for some people but I love it!

Just a little shout out to my sissys....

The name of our store is called Five Hearts which represents my four sisters and I. My older sister, Jen, came up with a bunch of great names but Five Hearts definitely felt like the best fit. We wanted a name that had meaning to us and I'm so glad we chose it! I never thought I would get so many questions about my sisters though! People always ask about the significance of Five Hearts which leads to a conversation about each one of them. My sisters are my best friends, and the most amazing people I know. We could not have done this without the support and help from each one of you.

Spot Light On Virgins Saints and Angels

If you've been into our store, you would have recognized the Virgins Saints and Angels jewelry collection. When MJ and I began the process of choosing which jewelry lines to carry, we came to the decision we'd always chose unique designs that we loved and believed in. We fell in love with VSA designs when we we're in St.Louis and stopped into this cute little boutique called Blush. We met the owner, Sarah, who was the sweetest young woman. She had started her own business right out of college and was truly an inspiration to MJ and I. We felt so comfortable shopping at Blush as well as had such a fun time! Anyways, we walked out of the store knowing it would be our purpose to make sure every person that walks into our store feels comfortable and walks out having had a great experience. Along with that, we found one of our very first lines in Virgins Saint and Angels.  You either love it or you don't and that is totally fine with us! Here's a little background on the designs...

Virgins Saints and Angels is beautiful, edgy inspired jewelry dedicated to designing adornments inspired by Goddesses to encourage enlightenment, creativity, and expression.  All VSA pieces are created in San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. Each article is handcrafted by a team of 30 traditional craftsman with materials native to Mexico. All the medalions used in each piece are orginial from the Vatican.

Translating The Fall Trends

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I've been feeling pretty under the weather this week. But while I was getting my rest in my comfy bed, I was tabbing through the recent Instyle magazine and had a thought...Not everyone feels like they can pull off the fall trends the way the runway suggests. So, here's my take on how to translate a trend through the use of accessories...

Trend: Leopard/Animal Print - Every season we see a few prints that become popular trends. This season animal prints popped up all over the runway. My suggestion is to take a simple black dress that you might wear to work and update it by adding animal print accessories. Here are some examples...

Trend: Sequins - Sequins were one of my favorite trends to see this season...Evident through the numerous styles I bought for the store(whoopsy)! Personally, I see them sticking around.  But if you're not interested in making too bold of a statement then some of these accessories might be a better option for you.
