Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving and found some great deals today!! Thanks to Megs, MJ, and Mal for making the day at the store so enjoyable :) My eyes are beginning to get tired from a crazy day, but I'm determined to make it to Wicked Hop for a much needed cocktail with my 4 wonderful sisters!!! Ciao!

Bracelets are on my mind, and these are the ones I'm dreaming about....

Roberto Cavalli
Serpentine Brass Bracelet
$350

Oscar de la renta crystal star embellished leather bracelet
$420

Oscar de la Renta 24 karat gold plated bracelet
$460

Isharya 18 karat gold plated lapis bangles
$95

I'm just dreaming! Although, I did just find this brand called Yochi which we're hoping to get in by Friday that has a great price tag for trend jewelry.

Prices range $25-$100.

Turkey day is only a couple of days away! On thanksgiving my family and I have a tradition of picking names out of a hat for who we will be giving a gift to for Christmas! Then we give small (under $25) gifts to everyone else in the family! I love doing this because I can take more time to find the perfect gift for that one person! Here are some gift ideas that I think would be perfect. All under $25...

(Warning: Family members, unless you don't want to be surprised, don't read any further - xxoo!)

Monogrammed Stationary - Broadway Paper in Third Ward - $18

Urban Outfitters Bow Belt - $25

I found these at anthropologie - I use them to display jewelry but they are meant to be coasters and really cool - $32 ( but I'm pretty sure they're on sale!)

Voluspa candles
My friend bought me this candle for my bday, and I've been in love ever since.
- Sold at Anthro for $23

By FAR my most favorite gift idea is this Sonya Renee stamped initial necklace. You can personalize the necklace however you'd like. I just bought one for a mom with her children's first initial and birthstone. Another great idea is the love knot necklace. The tiny baby knots represent the loves of your life. Your kids, your grandchildren, years of marriage, etc. I gave my sister, Jen, one for all her help with store, and it has become an everyday jewelry staple for her.

Gap Slippers - $25

Debonair Petite Sudoku - Frank Longo design at Broadway Paper $6.95 -  For someone who loves a game challenge. Not to mention the cool design...Perfect gift for my pops.

Mouse pad - Anthropologie $18

Be jeweled Frog - $19 - MJ LOVES frogs :)

Faux fur pom hat - Gap - $24.50

Gypsy "turban" - Mod cloth $20
Definitely for someone who loves to take risks with their fashion choices

World Market - $18 - Perfect for a coffee/tee lover - Hoping they have darker colors, because I'd love to get this for my brother in law.

Faux Fur Cuffs - Echo - $18

Cook book - Best Recipes for someone who loves to bake!

I'm determined to get my Christmas shopping done early this year...Anyone that knows me, knows that is a pretty bold statement. Since I'm at the store most days, I may be doing my shopping online this year. I'll let you know how it goes :)

Friday, November 19

Ah! I've been a little busy this week hence no recents posts...The holiday season has begun and it's been a little crazy here! Anyways, we had our holiday party at the store last night which was such a success. Thank you to EVERYONE who came out to shop and mingle with us. It was so fun! I came in early this morning to clean and realized we sold so many scarves and gloves last night, I had to place an immediate order! Accessories are by far my most favorite thing to buy. We don't have to worry about sizes and fit, so it makes the process a lot more fun. The gloves we have coming in are my some of my favorite...So thanks for making my Friday all the better :)

Here's a few snaps of what I bought....

Yes - they are indeed velvet :)

Okay, it's officially time to open up my drawer of tights. I've gone through countless amounts of tights over the years. They usually rip after a few wears, or I'm constantly tugging at them to stay up! We've all been there. I got a little tired of spending money on a pair of tights only to wear them a couple times before they got pushed to the back of the drawer. So, we set out on a mission to find our favorite pair of tights.

1) Spanx - Yes, Spanx makes tights now and they are amazing. There are tons of colors and prints but the greatest bonus is they stay up like no other tight does! The band around the waist functions as a tummy control which helps keep you comfy all day!

(My favorite pair - They're reversible)

2) Anthropologie - They have a ton of different styles online and are reasonably priced. I've worn mine a dozen times, and they're still in pretty good shape.

Country and sparkles go together like pb&j....Seriously. The country stars put on a show for the CMA's red carpet last night with all of their glitz and glam. I always find it really fun to see what the women of country choose to wear to these award shows...No one seems to take it too seriously. They have fun with the gowns which makes it more interesting for us!

Here are some of my favorite and least favorite....

Carrie Underwood wore a dramatic tiered Talbot Runhof gown for the Red Carpet
and then changed a gazillion times throughout the show...

Gwyneth Paltrow fit right in with the rest of the country glamour
by wearing a stunning ombre Atelier Versace gown.

Taylor Swift stuck to what she usually does by wearing
a  simple custom designed gown by Monique Lhuillier.

Jennifer Nettles in a strapples blue Carolina Herrera gown.

And the dresses I didn't care so much for...

Leighton Meester in Emillio Pucci

Nicole Kidman in Dolce and Gabbana

Sheryl Crow in Zaz Posen.

The Blazer...

So, I have a few blazers in my closet which don't receive much attention.  On many occassions, I have found myself telling women to layer with a blazer...It's an easy solution for someone who is looking to hide their arms or wants more of a finished look. I decided to take my own advice, and I attempted an outfit around the blazer.

I chose this blazer - Greylin $125

After trial and error, I've found that a shorter blazer works better for me. I'm pretty short, so the longer blazers don't seem to do much for my body. Since the blazer has a bit of detail in front, I paired it with a simple white tank, fitted black skinnys, and some booties. I think it was a blazer success :)
